I am really glad you’re speaking with someone, Chris, that takes a lot more courage than people often realise.
Grief doesn’t move in straight lines, and it’s a strange thing learning how to be again after such a long “we.” I hope you’re giving yourself the same care you’ve always offered others. I sometimes wonder what it’s like to rediscover yourself after so many years alongside someone, it must be a very particular kind of terrain.
And I hope your dear hen is enjoying a little peace from all the pecking, she’s earned her rest. 🤍
each time i see comment from you, a soft smile crosses. the care and depth of your reading brings joy. truly. i have no idea how (or if) i will rediscover myself, but it brings comfort knowing that you are along side.
You say you are broken, yet here is the healing happening before our eyes…I’m so sorry for the tenderness of this new relationship running its course and hope it has made space for whatever comes next 🌸
So much hard won insight here, Chris. You’re doing the work, friend, it just takes so much more time and effort than it seems like it should. And your loss is still quite recent. I’m struck by your increasing self awareness. Hugs.

After we've lost someone, we need that hole filled. Or else we feel like we're floundering around with no direction.
It's an awful place to be. One moment you have someone and the next moment they are gone.
It takes a while to come into your own.
The need for love becomes overpowering and we latch on too quickly. I know, I've been there.
The right person will come, Chris.
Sending much love.
sheets of rain falling is not the time to believe in sunlight, but your comments always spark hope. ty Rea. truly.
Rain also has a purpose, Chris.

thank you jess. i am thinking i may stay in the box for a while —nerves too frayed to venture out of safe confines.

thank you Joyce. i do not know that there is actual insight going on inside my noggin' but i keep trying.
